"Pastor and Dee Shook are two people who allow God to
use them to lead by example. Seeing how obedient they are to God
has been a blessing in my life. Even their loving relationship is
a great example for me to follow in my own marriage. I am a better
person because of their teachings of what Christ expects of me as
a wife, mother, friend, etc. I am still growing, but I know I have
the love and support of two people whose allegence is to God."

Biography of Pastor Herb Shook
Pastor Herb Shook accepted Jesus Christ into his
heart on April 14, 1976 at the age of 15. As He walked down the
aisle toward the front of the church, The Holy Spirit told him he
was being called into the ministry of the gospel.
Soon after accepting
Jesus as his personal Savior he joined Youth for Christ, an organization
dedicated to equipping young people to be in full-time ministry.
He learned how to study the Bible, and to teach
Bible studies, and he flourished and grew as a young Christian. In his
late teens and early twenties family, social and economic challenges
forced Pastor Shook to take a different career path. Pastor Shook
says looking back, it did not always seem like it, but the Lord was
always with him, molding him, and guiding his foot steps back onto
the path God had set for him. No matter where he was or where he
went he tried to stay active in various church ministries. About
six years ago, after the Lord’s abrupt, direct and divine intervention
in his life, Pastor Shook once again began to immerse himself in
the Word of God and finally accepted
the calling that God had placed on his life. |

In 2002, as the Lord did for
Adam, He brought Pastor Shook a wife, Deirdre "Dee" Jones. She is a Godly woman who possesses wisdom beyond her years. She and Pastor fell
in love and were married on August
2, 2003. Pastor Shook says that even
though he did not deserve such a wonderful gift, God gave him Dee
as an amazing gift to support him in accomplishing God's purposes.
Shortly thereafter Pastor Shook announced his calling
at New Harvest Baptist Church under Pastor Keith Anderson. Pastor
Shook later moved and served as Associate Pastor at New Mt. Zion
Baptist Church. In 2006 Pastor Shook move to Bethel’s Family
Church for Ministerial training under the tutelage of Senior Pastor,
Walter August, Jr. and served as Minister over the Marriage Ministry.
Both He and Dee are Certified Christian Counselors and graduates of the University of Colorado at Denver and Texas Southern University respectively.
Pastor Shook has the heart of an Evangelist with a strong focus on preaching and teaching the Word of God in a way
that is easy to understand. He is dedicated to spiritually building up the family, which
is constantly under attack. He believes that the roles of the Godly family are not
being taught or have been abandoned, and as a result we see a lot
of problems facing families today. We have to get back to teaching,
that God through Christ has set forth in His Word a plan for a healthy
family.
To achieve the mission of “Building
up the body of Christ”, Pastor Shook was led by the Lord through
the Holy Spirit to start Covenant of Faith Church. Covenant of Faith
Church is a place that is helping individuals and families fulfill their spiritual needs
according to the Word of God; therefore strengthening the lives of all who come to share and worship in COF's relaxed, comfortable,
and loving atmosphere where everyone is welcome.
